Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies were called out to three traffic accidents in the county, Saturday afternoon and evening.

The first happened just after 3:30pm at the intersection of 150th Street and "T" Avenue, east of Sumner. A car driven by 18 year old Chloe Kime of Hawkeye failed to stop at a stop sign, going into the path of a car driven by a 16 year old girl. No one was injured, but Kime's 2005 Pontiac Sunfire was totaled, and the teen's 2012 Chevy Impala had functional damage. Kime is being charged with Failure to Obey a Stop or Yield Sign.

Then at about 6:30pm, the sheriff received a 911 call, reporting a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 18 and Garden Road, west of Clermont. A car driven by 46 year old Lynn Helgerson of Eldorado, went out of control and into the ditch. There was only minor damage; Helgerson was not injured, but she was charged with Failure to Have Control of her Vehicle.

And just before 7pm Saturday, the sheriff responded to a car vs deer accident on Lincoln Road, near Eldorado. A vehicle driven by 52 year old Bonnie Bootsmiller was southbound, when a deer ran out from a ditch, striking the 2018 Honda Odyssey. No one was injured, but the vehicle had $6,000 in damage.
