Fayette County Sheriff Reports New Year’s Day Arrests
Authorities arrested a local woman, after initially responding to the report of a disabled vehicle.
At about 7am on New Year's Day, the Fayette County Sheriff was notified of a disabled vehicle near the intersection of "R" Avenue and 100th Street, east of Westgate. After looking into the matter, officers arrested 33 year old Jade McAllister of Oelwein, on charges of Driving While her License is Revoked, and No Proof of Insurance.
Also on New Year's Day, the Fayette County Sheriff took custody of a Cedar Rapids man, from the Linn County jail. 37 year old Jason Lafond had a Mittimus Warrant for failing to serve 2 days in jail, as ordered by the court. His initial charge was Carrying Weapons. Lafond will be held in the Fayette County jail to serve his sentence, then will be released to appear in court at a later date for a contempt hearing.
