Fayette Co. Deputies Arrest Woman for Drugs, Man for Jail Melee
The Fayette County Sheriff reports the arrest of a Texas woman on drug and gun charges, and an Elgin man for a fight with jail personnel.
Just before 4:30pm Saturday (July 10), deputies pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of South Frederick Avenue.
After an investigation, the driver, 28 year old Ashley Jennings of Denton, Texas was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana 1st offense.
Officers executed a search warrant for the vehicle and found multiple firearms and more controlled substances.
Jennings was taken into custody and held in the Fayette County jail until her initial court appearance. The sheriff continues the investigation.
The Fayette County Sheriff's office received a report from a protected party in Elgin late Friday night (July 9th) of a violation of a No-Contact order.
Responding officers located and arrested 37 year old David Gyorko of Elgin for Violation of a no-contact order.
While being processed at the Fayette County jail, Gyorko got into a fight with the jail staff, and was tasered.
No one was seriously hurt. Gyorko was also charged with Interference with Correctional Officials. He was held pending his initial court hearing.
Buchanan County authorities have arrested an Oelwein man for an outstanding warrant, and a driving violation.
Shortly after 6pm Wednesday (July 7), deputies took 44 year old Michael Rickert into custody. Rickert was charged with Driving While his License is revoked, and an active Buchanan County arrest warrant for Failure to Appear in Court.
Officers made the arrest after getting a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of East Benton Street in Hazleton.
