Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Fayette County

An accident in Fayette County, involving a motorcycle and a pickup, has taken the life of a Minnesota man.

The accident occurred at about 2:30pm Monday (July 27), at the intersection of Juniper Road and Great River Road, north of West Union.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, an eastbound motorcycle operated by 67 year old Bruce Bullemer of Savage, Minnesota, did not stop at the stop sign. The pickup, driven by 35 year old Daniel Moritz of West Union, made contact with the front center and side of the bike.

Following the collision, the pickup ended up in the ditch, with the motorcyclist, Bullemer, underneath it.

Bullemer was pronounced dead of his injuries. Moritz was taken by private vehicle to the West Union hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, West Union Fire/EMS, and Gunderson Palmer Hospital.
