Farmers: Beware of Rural Burglaries to Homes and Cars

The Clayton County Sheriff is alerting area residents of some recent daytime break-in's to homes and vehicles.

The series of burglaries began last week, with most of the incidents happening in the southwest corner of Clayton County, near Strawberry Point.

Burglars have been taking power tools, cash and credit cards.

Some witness statements indicate that the suspect vehicle involved in the break-ins may be an older, tan Grand Marquis.

Authorities remind rural residents that farmers who will be busy in the fields during the planting season, to secure any tools or valuable property.

The Clayton County Sheriff asks that you report any suspicious vehicles or activity.
