Chicken Salad sold at local grocery stores linked to salmonella bacteria.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting a link between salmonella and Fareway Chicken Salad product sold at Fareway Stores.  The chicken salad is made and packaged by a third party and then distributed to Fareway stores.

Fareway Stores have pulled the product from shelves and no sales of the product have been allowed since Friday February 9, 2018.

Salmonella infection can cause symptoms of diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, bloody stools and dehydration along with other symptoms.
