Explosion at a Clayton County Business is Under Investigation

Clayton County authorities are investigating the cause of an explosion at an area business.

At about 1pm Tuesday (March 19), the Clayton County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call, reporting an explosion and fire at Consolidated Grain and Barge (CBG) in the town of Clayton.

Both the fire and explosion were contained to an exterior building on the company's property.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews from Garnavillo and Guttenberg were called to douse the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
