Eastern Iowa Toddler Pulled from Pool, Dies at Hospital

ANDREW, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say an 18-month-old eastern Iowa girl who fell into a pool has died at a hospital.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says Nxy Jones died Tuesday at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She'd been flown there from the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa. She was unresponsive when pulled from the residential pool in the Andrew area on Monday.

An autopsy has been ordered.
