Eastern Iowa Pedestrian Killed

Linn County authorities have released the name of the pedestrian, killed in a traffic accident Thursday night.

It happened at about 9:30pm on the northbound I-380 off-ramp to County Home Road, near Hiawatha.

A man was in the process of crossing the off-ramp, when he was hit by a vehicle that was exiting the interstate.

The man, now identified as 34 year old Jesse Eaton of Cedar Rapids, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, 22 year old Tyler Frost of Toddville, and a passenger, 55 year old Karen Frost, were not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
