IOWA FALLS, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa Falls man accused of threatening to cut the throats of judges in Eldora during a call to an office of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has been found guilty.

35-year-old Andre Michael LaFontaine III was convicted Thursday of transmitting a threatening communication in U.S. District in Cedar Rapids.

Prosecutors say LaFontaine left a threatening message in July laced with a racial epithet and obscenities on the voicemail of the department's Office of Professional Responsibility. Authorities say he complained the FBI had not responded to his allegations of official corruption.

Sentencing will be at a later date.
