Linn County authorities have arrested a man for numerous charges, after leading officers on a high-speed chase early this morning (Thursday, April 22).


The incident began at about 2:22am when a deputy attempted to pull over a car on Highway 30, on the south side of Cedar Rapids, for having no license plates.

The driver refused to pull over, and led the officer on a 100 mph chase, northbound on Edgewood Road, and westbound on Adeline Court SW where the driver stopped and fled on foot.

Following a search of the area, the suspect, identified as 32 year old Carldale Hunter of Hammond, Indiana, was located and taken into custody.

Hunter is being charged with Eluding, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying Weapons, Operating While Intoxicated, plus numerous arrest warrants and traffic offenses.

The incident was investigated by the Linn County Sheriff, with assistance from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
