Early Morning Burglary in Oelwein Investigated

The Oelwein Police Department is looking into a burglary that was reported early this morning (Monday, Aug. 12).

Shortly after 3:30am, Oelwein Police were called to the 100 block of 3rd Avenue NW on the report of a break-in. No other information was released; it remains under investigation.

A local woman has been cited for failing to clear off some property on the northeast side of town. On Saturday, Oelwein Police cited 42 year old Trisha Billingsley of Oelwein with Failure to Abate as Ordered. The property is located in the 600 block of 1st Avenue NE, and stemmed from an abatement order that was served in July.
