During Arrest For Sex Assault, Also Find Drugs and Guns

An area man faces a possible 25 year prison sentence on sexual assault charges.

Following a 3 week investigation, 42 year old Matthew Henry of rural Sumner was taken into custody. Fayette and Bremer County authorities were following up on an incident of sexual assault while displaying a weapon.

Henry was charged with Sexual Assault in the 2nd Degree in Fayette County. During a search of his home, officers seized numerous guns and marijuana. Controlled substance charges are being planned in Bremer County.

Henry is being held in the Fayette County jail on $100,000 bond. If he is convicted, he could be sentenced to 25 years in prison and be put on the state sex offender registry.
