Dubuque Man Arrested for Past Sex Abuse in Clermont

Authorities have arrested a Dubuque man for the alleged sexual assault of a child in Clermont, several years ago.

The Fayette County Sheriff began the investigation in July of 2019; a 6 year old girl was reportedly assaulted in Clermont, a few years before it was reported.

The investigation led to the February 4th arrest of 25 year old Scott Marcov of Dubuque, on a charge of Sexual Abuse-2nd Degree. Dubuque Police had taken Marcov into custody Tuesday, on an outstanding warrant for the charge.

Marcov was transferred to the Fayette County jail, and held on a $15,000 bond. He later posted bond, and will be required to appear in court at a later date.

If convicted, Marcov could receive a sentence of up to 25 years in prison, and be put on the sex offender registry.
