The Fayette County Sheriff reports that deputies arrested 3 people Tuesday night, in separate incidents.


Deputies pulled over a vehicle in Westgate at about 5pm. The driver, 62 year old David Leyh of Westgate, was taken into custody for Driving While his License is Suspended, No S.R. on File, and No Proof of Insurance.

Shortly after 6pm, an officer pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of Cherry Street and Highway 150 in West Union. A search of the vehicle turned up some illegal substances. As a result, 27 year old Daniel Shibley of Fairbury, Nebraska, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana-1st Offense. The driver, 19 year old Austin Hatfield of Beatrice, Nebraska, was cited for not having a valid driver's license.

And at about 10:15pm, 29 year old Jeremiah Bennett of Fayette was taken into custody for 2 arrest warants, for Failure to Appear, with a bond set at $300. The warrants were for Driving While Suspended, and Failure to Provide Financial Liability.
