A Northeast Iowa man was arrested on drug charges, after authorities investigated an accident in rural Fayette County.


The incident happened at about 1pm Sunday (Nov. 24), in the 11,000 block of Highway 93.
A pickup driven by 23 year old Alexander Wallace of Hawkeye, went out of control, due to road conditions and a malfunction of the vehicle.
The pickup slid into a ditch; no one was injured and damage was minor. However, Wallace was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Authorities arrested a Hawkeye man early Sunday on several drug charges, after a traffic stop. The driver, 38 year old Jacob Eitel was charged with Operating while Intoxicated 1st Offense, Open container, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana – 2nd Offense, and Possession of Methamphetamine.

And Fayette County deputies were called to a car/deer accident Saturday evening, just north of Oelwein on Highway 150. 55 year old Frederick Engler of Hawkeye was driving south when a deer ran out onto the road. No one was injured, but there was $4,000 damage to his 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander.
