A Northeast Iowa motorist escaped injury, but her car was damaged, when she hit a deer in rural Fayette County.

At about 7:15am Wednesday (Jan. 20), the Fayette County Sheriff received a 911 call, reporting that a car had crashed into a deer, west of Wadena on Kornhill Road.

A car driven by 37 year old Anna Wiegel of Elgin was westbound when the deer ran out onto the road and was struck.

Wiegel was not injured, but her 2005 Toyota Corolla had about $2,000 in damage.
