Driver Hits Bridge to Avoid Crashing into Other Car

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has released information on an accident last week, in which a vehicle collided with a bridge.

It happened shortly after 9pm Thursday (Aug. 16), west of Westgate on county road C-33, east of "Y" Avenue.

25 year old Miranda Steinbronn of Westgate was driving west, preparing to cross a bridge, when an oncoming vehicle crossed the center line.

Steinbronn avoided a head-on collision with the vehicle, however her car slammed into the guardrail of the bridge.

Steinbronn was not injured, however her 2017 Chevrolet Malibu had $5,000 in damage.
The identity of the other driver was not determined.
