An Eastern Iowa man has been cited after he crashed a truck loaded with gravel.

It happened shortly after 11:30am Monday (July 1) on North Center Point Road, north of Center Point.

A vehicle driven by 52 year old Brian Schneider of Marion, was northbound, hauling a load of gravel, when he lost control of his vehicle. Schneider attempted to correct the vehicle before it crashed, but he had to put it on it's side, dumping the load of gravel. The vehicle and the gravel totally blocked the road.

Schneider was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, to be treated for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Schneider is being charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

The Linn County Sheriff was assisted by the Walker Fire Department, State DOT, Hazmat, and Center Point Ambulance.
