An Oelwein man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant, in connection with an accident last month in Hazleton.

On Friday (July 24)at about 5:15pm, Buchanan County Sheriff's Officers took 33 year old Brett Berry into custody, stemming from a traffic accident on June 30th. Berry was driving northbound on North Main Street in Hazleton, when he lost control on a curve. His SUV crossed into the other lane, jumped a curb, and crashed into 3 vehicles that were parked at a used car dealership.

Berry was treated for minor injuries at the Independence hospital, and initially charged with No Proof of Insurance, Open Container, Striking Fixtures, and Driving Left of Center, with other charges pending at the time.

Following an investigation, Berry was arrested Friday on a warrant for the charges of First Offense Operating While Intoxicated/Impaired, First Offense Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was held in the Buchanan County jail in Independence.
