MESKWAKI SETTLEMENT, Iowa (AP) — Federal, state and local authorities are investigating the slayings of two people on the Meskwaki Settlement in central Iowa's Tama County.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed early Thursday that its agents were helping Meskwaki Settlement police and the FBI. The names of the victims and other information about what happened haven't been released.

The settlement land is owned by the Sac and Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa/Meskwaki Nation.
