A Decorah man faces several charges after authorities were called to an incident in Hesper involving a firearm.


At about 6pm Saturday (March 23) the Winneshiek County Sheriff received a report of a disturbance in Hesper, which involved some type of firearm.

The suspect, 54 year old Patrick Curran, fled before deputies arrived. Authorities received information that Curran was at a residence in rural Houston County, Minnesota.

Curran was arrested without further incident, and is being held in the Houston County jail on a Winneshiek County arrest warrant.

Curran is being charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Stalking with a Dangerous Weapon. A charge of Domestic Assault is still pending, and the incident remains under investigation.
Curran was being held on $50,000 cash bond.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Decorah Volunteer Fire Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Caledonia Police Department and Spring Grove Police Department.
