Deputy Witnesses Snowbank Crash, Makes Arrest on Numerous Charges

An Independence man faces a list of charges, after he crashed his car into a snowbank, right in front of a Buchanan County Deputy.

37 year old Michael Plowman was taken into custody, just before 11:30pm Thursday (Feb. 14). Plowman's car plowed into the snowbank near the intersection of First Street East and 7th Avenue NE in Independence. A county deputy witnessed the accident, and called in a sheriff's K-9 to assist in the investigation.

Plowman was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver – Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Barred, Driving While License Revoked, and Driving While License Suspended.

Plowman was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Failure to Have SR22 Insurance as Required, Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance, Operation of Non-Registered Vehicle and Fraudulent Use of Registration.
