Deputies Called to Accidents in Clermont and Hawkeye

A West Union woman is being charged with causing a 2-vehicle accident in Clermont.

The Fayette County Sheriff was called to the scene on Monday (Sept. 28), at the intersection of Larrabee and Stone Streets. A car driven by 29 year old Michelle McGiboney made a left turn in front of a truck driven by Eugene Moore of Wadena. The collision disabled the two vehicles. Both drivers were treated for minor injuries at the scene. McGiboney was charged with Failure to Yield Upon Entering a Through Highway, and No Proof of Insurance.

A Hawkeye motorist escaped injury in an accident Sunday, involving her car and a deer. Fayette County deputies responded to the accident scene on "R" Avenue in Hawkeye. A deer ran onto the highway from the west ditch, in front of a car driven by 60 year old Penny Teepe of Hawkeye. No one was injured, but Teepe's vehicle sustained $1,500 in damages.
