Deer Accidents Still Prevalent in Northeast Iowa

Traffic accidents involving deer continue to be reported in Northeast Iowa.

The Fayette County Sheriff notes the latest car/deer accident in the county was on Thursday, April 13, at about 11pm.

31 year old Charles Drees of West Union was driving north on Juniper Road, just south of the Winneshiek County border, when a deer entered the roadway and struck his pickup.

No one was hurt, but there was $3,000 damage to his 2004 Chevrolet Truck.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted at the accident scene by the Ossian Fire Department.
