The Fayette County Sheriff reports more deer accidents over the holiday weekend.


Just before 10am Saturday (May 27), a deputy discovered an accident on Neon Road, 1 mile north of Maynard.

The investigation determined that the accident actually happened in the early morning hours. 28 year old Anthony Beltz of Cedar Rapids was driving south when a deer came onto the roadway and struck his car. No one was injured, but Beltz'2005 Chevy Impala had $3,000 in damage.

And at about 9pm Sunday, the Sheriff received a report of a car that struck a deer on Highway 150, south of Eldorado. A car driven by 21 year old Rolan Steinlage of West Union hit a deer in the road. He was not injured, but there was $5,000 damage to the car.
