An Eastern Iowa man has died in a weekend motorcycle accident.


According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened at about 6:30pm Saturday (Sept. 7), in rural Jackson County.

For unknown reasons, a motorcycle operated by 52 year old John Cole Jr. of Sabula left Highway 52, entered the ditch, and struck an embankment.

Cole was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken by ambulance to the Jackson County Health center, but was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff.
