Deadly Weekend Motorcycle Accident in Fayette County
A weekend motorcycle accident in Fayette County has left one person dead.
The Fayette County Sheriff received several 911 calls at about 10am Saturday (March 3), reporting a motorcycle accident on "D" Avenue, north of Delta Road, just north of Arlington.

The operator of the motorcycle, 52 year old Troy Shaffer of Pella, was driving south on "D" Avenue, when his bike left the road on a curve, entered a ditch, and overturned.
Shaffer was taken to MercyOne Hospital in Oelwein, where he was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff.
