Deadly Holiday Cycle Accident Still Being Investigated

Authorities continue to investigate a deadly accident involving a motorcycle last week.

It happened Labor Day, at about 11am, in Oelwein. A Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Rodney Wayne of Oelwein, was southbound, in the 400 block of 1st Avenue NW, when he lost control and struck a utility pole.

Wayne was transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City, where he died from his injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by Oelwein Police, with assistance from the Fayette County Sheriff, and Iowa State Patrol.
