Deadly Eastern Iowa Accident

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — One person is dead and two other have been taken to the hospital following a head-on collision in Cedar Rapids.

Authorities say two vehicles were involved in the Wednesday incident. Police say the driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people in the other vehicle were taken to UnityPoint, a St. Luke's Hospital for treatment of injuries considered not to be life-threatening.

Authorities say the names of those involved in the collision will not be released until their family members are notified.
