Deadly Accident on I-380 Slows Commuter Traffic
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly accident on Interstate 380, between North Liberty and Swisher.
It happened at about 4:30am Wednesday in the southbound lanes, near mile marker 5.
A car driven by 33 year old Keri Goddard of Swisher, slammed into the back of a semi-tractor-trailer that was stopped on the shoulder.
Goddard was pronounced dead; a passenger, a 15 year old from Swisher, was aircared to University Hospitals in Iowa City, but a condition report was not available.
The driver of the semi, 42 year old Raymond Ramirez of Davenport, was not hurt.
The accident slowed commuter traffic for several hours Wednesday morning.
