Authorities are investigating the cause of death of a worker at an area grain company.


The incident happened at about 2pm Tuesday (May 16) at the Viafield facility in Winthrop.

Rescue workers were summoned and attempted CPR, then transferred the person to the Manchester Hospital. The ag-services worker, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead. The cause of death has not been released.

Officials with OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for the state of Iowa, are investigating the incident.
