Dangerous Suspect on the Loose in Winneshiek County

The Winneshiek County Sheriff is asking for the public to be on the lookout for a man deemed to be dangerous, after what was described as a brutal attack late last night (Thursday, July 12)in Winneshiek County.

The assault, along with other attacks, happened just before midnight Thursday.

The suspect at-large is 18 year old Dalton Adam, last seen in the Freeport area in Winneshiek County. The sheriff says Adam should be considered dangerous. The sheriff, along with the Iowa State Patrol and Decorah Police and Fire Departments, are aggressively searching for Adam.

He is described as 6'1", 200 lbs, with brown hair. (A picture of Adam is posted on our website.)

Another person who was involved in the attack was taken into custody.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dalton Adam, or if there is suspicious activity evident, authorities ask you to call the Winneshiek County Sheriff.

In the meantime, residents in the Freeport area of Winneshiek County are being cautioned to lock the doors to their homes, as well as their vehicles.
