Junior linebacker Jared Farley has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in UNI's 25-20 win over FBS foe Iowa State.

The Cedar Falls, Iowa native played an exceptional game on Saturday night, helping UNI to victory and his father, head coach Mark Farley to his 130th win to become the all-time wins leader in UNI history.

The junior racked up a team-high eight tackles that included four solo and four assisted. His key play of the night though came with less than 1:30 on the clock. Farley notched his second career interception on Iowa State quarterback Joel Lanning's pass on the ISU 46-yard-line to seal the win for the Panthers after UNI had scored to take back the lead with 2:49 remaining.

Farley and the Panthers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 10 to take on top-25 ranked Montana. The game is set to kick off at 4 p.m. CT and will air on Panther Sports Network. Single game tickets are still on sale now (web).
