Crash Near Eldorado Totals 3 Vehicles and Puts 2 Drivers in the Hospital
Three vehicles are considered total losses, from a traffic accident in northern Fayette County.
The sheriff received a 911 call at about 7:10pm Tuesday (July 13), reporting an accident with injuries, at the intersection of Highway 150 and Major Road, just west of Eldorado.
A vehicle driven by 19 year old Morgan Mosleed of West Union, was crossing Highway 150 on Major Road, when she crashed into another vehicle driven by 64 year old Chrystyn Thomas of Calmar. Thomas' vehicle then collided with a 3rd vehicle that was making a left turn into Eldorado. The driver was identified as 63 year old Radi Vagts of Eldorado.
Thomas was taken by ambulance to the West Union hospital, while Vagts was transported by private vehicle to Palmer Hospital in West Union.
All three of the vehicles involved, a 2016 Ford Focus, a 2008 Chrysler 300, and a 2010 Chevy Suburban, were considered total losses.
Molseed is being charged with Failure to Yield When Entering a Highway.
The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the West Union Police Department, and West Union Fire Department.
Authorities are investigating to see if human remains found along the Maquoketa River during the Independence Day holiday weekend, are those of a man who has been missing for about 8 months.
People who were floating on the river on July 3rd, discovered the body just south of Canton, in Jones County, and called local authorities.
Members of the Jones County Sheriff's Office responded, and confirmed the remains are those of a human. The person's identity has not been confirmed, although there was speculation that they may belong to Justin Chambers, who was reported missing along the same river, north of Canton, last November.
A search for Chambers was called off because of bad weather, and because no one knew where Chambers had last been seen.
