Corn Planter Destroyed in Fayette Co. Accident

The Fayette County Sheriff has released information on a 2 vehicle accident last week that destroyed a piece of farm equipment.

It happened just after 5:30pm last Friday (March 29)northeast of Sumner, near the intersection of "T" Avenue and 175th Street.

54 year old Jay Fette of Sumner was driving a truck, pulling an International corn planter, headed south, when an SUV driven by 29 year old Michael Nelon of Sumner, ran into the planter.

No one was injured, by the corn planter was a total loss. There was also $4,000 damage to the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. The accident remains under investigation.
