DUNKERTON, Iowa (AP) — A wind farm proposal that's been rejected in three Iowa counties has surfaced for another location in one of them.

Optimum Renewables wants to erect three turbines on farmland a little more than a mile northeast of Dunkerton. A Black Hawk County hearing on the proposal is scheduled for Oct. 20.

The turbines would generate power for an Alliant Energy substation at the Flint Hills Resources ethanol plant just east of Fairbank.

The company proposal was rejected at two sites in Fayette County and a site in Buchanan County. Last month the Black Hawk County Board of Adjustment rejected the company's request for a special permit and setback variance so it could construct the wind farm near Black Hawk-Buchanan County line.
