Authorities are charging a Colorado man with causing a two-vehicle accident in Linn County, that sent 4 people to the hospital.


The accident happened at about 6pm Tuesday, at the intersection of Highway 13 and County Home Road, just north of Marion.
A car driven by 26 year old Robert Newlin-Smith of Platteville, Colorado, went through the intersection without stopping, and crashed into a minivan driven by 35 year old Krystl Verrengia of Mount Vernon.

The two drivers along with two passengers in the minivan, were taken to area hospitals to be treated for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. All of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
Newlin Smith is being charged with Operating While Intoxicated, and some traffic related charges.
