WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Closing arguments are scheduled Friday in the trial of a man charged with murder in eastern Iowa's Black Hawk County.

Steven Fordyce Jr. has been charged with shooting to death Donald Harrington following a neighborhood dispute on Aug. 14 last year.

Authorities say Fordyce's relatives had been feuding with their neighbor Harrington. Police say that while Fordyce was visiting his sister, he followed her to Harrington's home. Fordyce told officers that before the shooting Harrington yelled and waved his arms at him and moved toward him until Fordyce took out a handgun and fired. His attorneys say he shot in self-defense.
