No one was injured in a traffic accident in Clermont Friday (Oct. 2), however one of the drivers was put in jail.


At about 5pm Friday, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office was called to the intersection of Spring and State Streets in Clermont.

An investigation determined that a vehicle driven by 56 year old Kevin McLaughlin of Clermont, was southbound on Spring Street, and failed to stop at the intersection's stop sign.

His car collided with an eastbound pickup driven by 79 year old Bert Henderson of Clermont.

No one was reported injured.

After an investigation by the deputies, McLaughlin was arrested for Driving While his License is Suspended, Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, operating a non-registered vehicle, and Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Yield the Right of Way.
He was taken to the Fayette county jail, and held until his initial court appearance.
