Clarksville Cyclist Charged with 125 + mph Chase
A Clarksville man faces a list of charges after he led authorities on a high speed chase on his motorcycle.
The incident began just before 9:30pm Wednesday (June 5), when a Bremer County Deputy tried to pull over a motorcyclist for a speeding violation. The cycle was clocked at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone, headed north on Highway 218, west of Waverly.
The motorcyclist refused to pull over, and a pursuit began, reaching speeds of nearly 130 mph (127 mph).
The cycle fled west on County Road C-33 into Butler County, continuing into the Clarksville city limits, where the chase ended.
The driver, 20 year old Dylan Jacobs of Clarksville, was then taken into custody on charges of Eluding, Excessive Speed, Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device, and Violation of the Conditions of his Restricted License.
The Bremer County Sheriff was assisted by the Butler County Sheriff and Clarksville Police Department.
