Charges Filed in 2 Separate Oelwein Accidents
A local woman is being charged following a one-vehicle accident in Oelwein.
Just before midnight Wednesday (Feb. 14), Oelwein police received a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the 100 block of East Line Road. After officers located the vehicle, the driver was tested at the scene. 68 year old Dorothy Briggman of Oelwein is charged with OWI First Offense, and Failure to Maintain Control.
An Oelwein woman has been charged with causing a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning. It happened at about 10am at the intersection of Elmwood and 12th Avenue SE. A sport utility vehicle driven by 18 year old Aryeanna Washington collided with a truck driven by 18 year old David Clarahan of Sigourney. No one was injured. Damages were totaled to be about $15,000. Washington is charged with Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
