CF Man Arrested for Enticing a Child

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Police say they have arrested a man accused of attempting to lure a teenage girl into a Cedar Falls apartment.

Online court records show 35-year-old Roy Halverson, of Cedar Falls, was arrested Thursday on charges of attempt to entice a minor and drug violations.

According to court documents, Halverson was outside a Cedar Falls apartment complex around 2 a.m. Thursday and a teenage girl was making a phone call nearby. He asked to use her phone, grabbed her wrist and began leading her away. Inside, she broke away and joined her friends, and Halverson followed them.

The Waterloo Cedar-Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1IsUqNl ) that Halverson is currently a registered sex offender in Iowa. Court records show he hasn't been assigned an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
