New Cedar Rapids Restaurant to Host Grand Opening Next Week [PHOTOS]
It's been a long wait, but you'll soon be able to sink your teeth into the food and quench your thirst, at a new Cedar Rapids restaurant.
Delays in openings are something we've certainly become familiar with due to shortages of both construction materials and workers, but the time has finally arrived for the opening of Barrel House in Cedar Rapids.
We first told you that Barrel House would be moving into the former La Cantina at 1st Avenue and 2nd Street SE, last June. According to its website, the restaurant will celebrate its grand opening when the doors open on Monday, May 2 at 11 a.m. A two-day hiring event was held last weekend.
Here are a couple of photos of the Cedar Rapids location during construction earlier this year.
The menu for the Cedar Rapids location hasn't been posted yet, but the Marion Barrel House has a dozen draft beers on tap. The food menu includes an array of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps, quesadillas and tacos, and more.
Here's some of that food I'm talking about:
The first Barrel House in the metro opened at 295 Tower Terrace Road in early December of last year. In addition to the Marion and Cedar Rapids Barrel House restaurants, there are two locations in Davenport, and one in Dubuque. Restaurants are scheduled to open this summer in both Des Moines and Bloomington, Illinois.
