A Cedar Falls woman led Oelwein Police on a short chase Sunday evening (Aug. 19).


Shortly after 5pm, officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of 10th Street and Highway 150 South. The driver attempted to elude authorities, but was stopped on "N" Avenue, southeast of Oelwein, with the help of the Fayette and Buchanan County Sheriff's Offices. 31 year old Shaina Boehmer of Cedar Falls was charged with Interference With Official Acts; other charges are pending.

Oelwein Police officers were called out to an accident late Sunday night, on West Charles Street. Shortly after 11pm, a car driven by 41 year old Ronald Dean of Oelwein, struck the eastbound side of the viaduct. Dean was charged with Failure to Maintain Control, and No Insurance.

An Oelwein man has been arrested in connection with a theft. At 8am Friday, police received a report of a theft from a building in the 10 block of 4th Street SW. After the investigation, 33 year old Zachary Smith of Oelwein was arrested Saturday evening on a charge of Theft-4th Degree.

Following an incident Friday afternoon in the 100 block of South Frederick, an Oelwein woman, 67 year old Linda Donelson, was arrested for Theft-5th Degree.

Oelwein Police are investigating two theft incidents reported Friday. The first one was in the 10 block of 4th Street SW, and the other was in the 700 block of South Frederick.

And an Oelwein man was cited for Failure to Abate Property as Ordered. 43 year old Jesse Moore was charged Friday night, for property in the 300 block of 4th Avenue SE.
