Cedar Falls Fire Under Investigation

A Sunday morning fire in Cedar Falls is currently under investigation.

On Sunday (3/5/17) morning around 9:00 A.M, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue, Cedar Falls Police, Sartori Paramedics, and Hudson Fire Rescue responded to a report of a residential fire at 700 West Ridgeway Ave Lot 742, owned by Sada Howard.

Upon arrival fire crews found a residential structure well involved in fire. The Howard family had escaped the fire and was waiting outside as firefighters arrived. Fire crews used several hose lines to quickly knock down the fire. Hudson Fire Rescue assisted in providing a tanker with water. The residence sustained significant damage. Callback personnel including off duty firefighters and alternative staff, assisted with the extinguishment and overhaul of the residence.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
