Bicyclist Struck By Car, Sent to Hospital

The Fayette County Sheriff's office is investigating an accident in which a car collided with a bicycle, sending one person to the hospital.

It happened just before 10:30am Monday, 2 miles west of Elgin on Golden Road.

A westbound bicycle ridden by 78 year old Robert Scott of West Union, was struck by a westbound car driven by 88 year old Alf Thorson of Clermont.

Scott was taken by Tri-State Ambulance to Palmer Hospital in West Union, to be treated for his injuries; a condition report was not available.

The accident remains under investigation.
