Car Goes Through Intersection, Eventually Stopping in a Field

The Buchanan County Sheriff continues to investigate a one-vehicle accident north of Brandon that injured a Brandon resident.

Officers were called out just before 6pm Saturday (Dec. 28) to the intersection of LaPorte Road and Dugan Avenue, where a car driven by George Nielsen failed to stop at the stop sign.

The car went through the intersection, entered a ditch, and traveled about 100 yards into a field. Nielsen was taken to the Vinton hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.

The Buchanan County Sheriff was assisted by the Brandon Fire Department and North Benton Ambulance Service.
