A Calmar woman has been arrested on illegal drug charges.


At about 9pm Thursday, October 1st, the Winneshiek county Sheriff and Calmar Police executed a search warrant at a home on East Main street in Calmar. The warrant was issued as a result of a lengthy joint investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff and Calmar Police.

Following the search, an arrest warrant was issued for 38 year old Keri Strong; she was not home at the time of the search.

Strong was finally arrested on Saturday (Oct. 10) on charges of 2 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd or Subsequent Offense, involving methamphetamine and marijuana.

The investigation continues, and more arrests and charges are pending.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff and Calmar Police were assisted at the scene by the Decorah Police Department and Winneshiek County Attorney's Office..
