A local teenager has been arrested in connection with a Memorial Day break-in in Oelwein.

 

Oelwein Police were called out to a burglary at about 6pm Monday (May 29), in the 1,000 block of South Frederick Avenue. Responding officers took 18 year old Richard Watterson of Oelwein into custody on charges of Theft-2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Oelwein Police are also investigating a burglary that was reported just before 8am Friday, also from the 1,000 block of South Frederick.

A Des Moines man faces charges following a traffic stop in Oelwein. Officers pulled over a vehicle in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE at about 1am Saturday. The driver, 38 year old Joshua Moore of Des Moines, was cited for Driving While his License is Suspended.

And Oelwein Police were called out to an accident involving a pedestrian, at the intersection of Highway 150 and 2nd Street SE, shortly after 6:30pm Friday. A pickup driven by an unknown individual, collided with a pedestrian. The victim, whose name was not available, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, with unknown injuries. A condition report was not available. The incident remains under investigation.
